Introduction of Plastic Notes

It has been decided by the Government to introduce plastic notes in the denomination of Rs. 10/-. One billion plastic notes of the denomination of Rs. 10/- will be introduced in a field trial in five cities selected for their geographical and climatic diversity. The primary objective of introduction of polymer/plastic notes is to increase its life and not to combat counterfeiting. The cities selected for field train are Kochi, Mysore, Jaipur, Shimla and Bhubaneswar.

The Reserve Bank of India has informed that since the proposal is at a trial stage, the decision on replacement of currency notes with plastic notes will depend on the outcome offield trial.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Finance, Shri Jayant Sinha in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.

The Commission, headed by its Chairman, Justice Shri A. K. Mathur, proposes to visit Jodhpur from 12^th to 15^th December, 2014. The Commission would like to invite various entities/associations/federations representing any/all categories of employees covered by the terms of reference of the Commission to present their views.

Your request for a meeting with the Commission may be sent through e-mail to the Secretary, 7^th Central Pay Commission at secy-7cpc@nic.in. The memorandum already submitted by the requesting entity may also be sent as an attachment with this e-mail.

The last date for receiving request for meeting is 8^th December 2014 (1700 hours).

PROMOTION OF UDC TO THE POST OF ASSISTANT-CONDUCTING SECOND BATCH TRAINING-REGARDING.

FOD HAS ISSUED ORDERS FOR 5 WEEK'S TRAINING OF UDCs WHO HAVE COMPLETED 10 YEARS REGULAR SERVICE. THIS TRAINING IS PRE-CONDITION FOR CONSIDERING THEIR NAMES FOR PROMOTION TO THE POST OF ASSISTANT. CONSIDERING THE VOLUME OF POSTS OF ASSISTANT LYHING VACANT IN FOD OFFICES, A REQUEST FOR RELAXATION OF QUALIFYING SERVICE FOR PROMOTION OF UDC TO THE POST OF ASSISTANT WAS SENT FOR CONSIDERATION. WE EXPECT A SECOND BATCH TRAINING FOR UDCS WHO HAVE NOT COMPLETED 10 YEARS ON THE POST, IMMEDIATELY. A LETTER IN THIS RESPECT IS BEING SENT TO FOD HQRS FOR CONSIDERATION.
