Reply by DOP&T regarding merger & Upgradation of the posts of UDC & LDC

Dear friends,
Shri Pinaki Acharya, UDC, SDRD Kolkata and JCM Member of this Association has received a reply from DOP&T for his application dated 3/1/2011 seeking information under RTI in connection with the merger of the post of LDC & UDC and upgradation of grade pay to Rs. 2800/. In this connection, DOP&T in its reply has flatly denied of receiving any application from any of the Associations/Departments so far. Where as the application addressed to the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India on this subject by our Association has already been forwarded to the
DOP&T by the Hon'ble Prime Minister's Office. Moreover, we had sent a letter to the Secretary, DOP&T vide letter dated 2/Assn/GS/2010 dated 28/10/10 wherein the demand was reiterated and a copy of the letter sent to the Hon'ble Prime Minister was also forwarded. However, DOP&T has admitted that the upgradation of the grade pay of UDC & LDC are under consideration of the Anomally Committee of DOP&T. Shri Pinaki Acharya, UDC is being requested to sent an appeal in view of the fact that this Association had clearly demanded the merger of the posts of UDC and LDC and upgradation grade pay to Rs. 2800 in the aforesaid letters. Copy of the letter of Shri Pinaki Acharya & its reply by the DOP&T are given hereunder:
