The hearing on the appeal filed by the Government, against the
Principal CAT order for granting MACP on hierarchical basis to 19 UDCs of Defense
Department, scheduled to be held on 11/11/2013, has been postponed to 7th
February 2014.

The decision for granting financial up gradation under MACP scheme on promotional hierarchy was already upheld by Apex court. On the basis of this Court decision, the policy of MACP scheme should have been amended by the DOPT so that similarly situated persons can avail the benefits. Whereas, why the DOPT is adamant to review the policy on the basis of early court decision and why the Government are more interested to defend the MACP case before the Court. The act of the Government is very clear that their decision is always against clerical cadre and the government is exploiting the LDC/UDC.
